WHO is the equivalent to day time drinking in a dark and dank pub. Everyone else is as pissed as you but then you step outside and it’s only three o’clock in the afternoon. It’s bright sunshine and everyone else is clean sober and going about their normal business. Shopping, pushing buggies, catching up with the latest news and gossip.
Similarly, most of us are old farts on here and we all start to think that this is the way everyone else thinks. We then step out into the real world and find out that everyone else is at least 10 years younger than us and we are out of touch.
Anyway, what I think I am trying to say is that daytime drinking is the best.

I was mind-blown when chatting to a young woman in my team (married, with two kids), several years ago who had never heard of Live Aid.
She was born in 1982.

When ex footballers who have been retired for years are still younger than you.
People who you think are about the same age as you then you learn they are 37.

Was talking to a fellow old bastard at work about this.
Most of the Beatles and Elvis etc etc and the Second World War obviously were ‘before my time’ but I was still aware of them.
Am always astonished (especially with the internet) how short term the knowledge of young people is.
As a kid I would have known who Winston Churchill was. The average 20 yo wouldn’t know John Major let alone Thatcher.
They might even struggle with David Cameron.

Everyone at work who I booze with is young enough to be my child and I'm only 45.
Huge percent of people around the 30 and younger mark nowadays dont k ow anything or anyone who existed before 20 years ago.
Hardly any of them have heard of Roy Orbison which made me angry at the time!!!

As i type this I'm listening to ' never loved Elvis'.
Used to love reading Mike Hunt's intrviews in the NME/ Melody Maker, clever funny and grumpy cunt at times but always worth reading.
